Seeing a Specialist

A specialist is a doctor who practices a certain area of medicine. Your PCP is trained to treat most medical problems. However, there may be times when you need to see a doctor who is a specialist. The PCP will help you decide when to see a specialist and will help you see an AmeriHealth Caritas Florida specialist. AmeriHealth Caritas Florida covers your visits to contracted specialists in our network without prior authorization. There is no limit to how many times you may see the specialists.

AmeriHealth Caritas Florida will pay for the cost of care that is approved. If your care is not approved by AmeriHealth Caritas Florida, you may have to pay for the cost of the care.
